Quality Engineer

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

• Manage Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) operation.
• Implement 3D models, blueprints, quality engineering documentation for new or revised products.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Prototyping Centre to transfer the required quality process and product customized application specific products.
• Translate quality engineering documents into Vietnamese as required supporting Quality (Works instruction, Setup Sheets, Tool Sheets, Operator inspection sheets).
• Recommend and implement improvements to quality processes, methods, and controls.
• Establish quality standard operating procedures for current or newly improved processes.
• Create, modify CMM programs and deploy FAI for new products, processes.
• Participate in Lean, Six-sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and yield enhancement activities.
• Follow, monitor quality planning and shipping.
• Develop skill-set training program of quality operators.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering or related field.

Working Experience

• At least 2 years as quality engineer in high precise machining manufacturing.
• Run CMM machines.
• Knowledge about hard metals cutting conditions.
• Knowledge 3D model design software such as SOLIDWORKS or relevant.
• Professional skill in reading 2D drawings and understanding GD&T deeply.
• Familiarity with quality tools: 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, SPC, MSA, FMEA.
• Proficient in MS Office and statistical software (e.g., Minitab).
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep machine in good condition, Clean and safe.
• Follow maintenance schedule and daily checklist.
•  Utilize designed tools and/or propose a new design to get higher efficiency.
• Strictly follow the quality system
• Proceed project as assigned.
• Report to engineers and managers about abnormal issues happened in the workshop.
• Control everything in timeframe.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Quality Engineering – 20%

1.1 Perform key aspects of manufacturing processes. Improve overall processes and related issues including process development, creating process documentation, product assembly and production processing, problem solving, and project management.

1.2 Perform product/process analysis for cost reduction such as quality improvement, and improved efficiencies and cycle time whole production processes.

1.3 Planning from prototype to pilot production to production.

1.4 Create, modify engineering documentation related to production activities (Works instruction, inspection sheets).

1.5 Write Process Engineering Change requests per the quality system.

1.6 Activities include processes optimization, component testing.

2. New products/process development – 10%

2.1 Transfer products from prototype to manufacturing through the documented process.

2.2 Create, develop QC Flow diagram, Control plan, FMEA, inspection sheets for new products from prototype and low level of production to mass production.

2.3 Follow, report on projects, and make recommendations to management.

2.4 Support special projects as required.

3. Quality Control – 50%

3.1 Create, modify, and control CMM programs.

3.2 Implement FAI for new products, processes.

3.3 Support, follow calibration program of testing equipment.

3.4 Carry out training inspectors.

3.5 Verify final inspection report, document, and upload inspection report into DMS.

3.6 Manage OQC team.

3.7 Responsible for maintaining proper housekeeping standards.

4. Business operations – 10%

4.1 Follow, support production planning and shipping included closing WO online.

4.2 Adhere to all department processes. Support reviews and audits of all SOPs and company practices for continuous improvement and cycle time reduction opportunities.

4.3 Ensure all records, reports, and metrics are accurate and on-time.

4.4 Understand and execute relevant Company Technology Control Plans, Export Compliance requirements, IP, IT and Quality procedures.

4.5 Establish and maintain a high standard of ethics, professionalism, competency, and quality.

5. Other activities – 10%

5.1 Perform other activities from company programs or assignment from the supervisor.
