BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB:

  • This position is to coordinate locally all tasks between cross functions such as planning, purchasing, engineering and manufacturing team, to ensure being able to manufacture & assembly all products in the designated production area of Ceramics plant in line with all quality requirements and the customer’s demand. Specifically,
  • Acts as an assembly production engineer, be responsible for manpower and work order planning surrounding Ceramics assembly facilities.
  • Monitors WO order variant and updates routing (std cost) for accounting to roll up Std cost accuracy. Monitors monthly expense cost from “cost center” report. Works with supply chain stakeholders (production planner, purchasers, etc) to arrange assembly production to optimize labour resource and staff overtime.
  • Supervises all assembly technicians (15+), Oversees routine situations, emergency prepared
  • Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls by participating in Lean, Six-sigma, Kaizen, FMEA, 5S, and yield enhancement activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science, Mechanical Engineering & Technology, Manufacturing Engineering specialisation is preferred.

Working Experience

  • • 2+ years of related experience in the precision manufacturing and assembly processing companies.
  • • 1+ years of supervising production team members is preferred.
  • • Assembly of precision machining units with clean room are strongly preferred.
  • • Experienced working in SAP ME/ERP or equivalent software is a plus.

Special abilities

  • • High proficiency in reading 2D drawings and understanding GD&T deeply.
  • • Have ability to achieve results independently or working with others.
  • • Problem solving skills.
  • • Good command of interpersonal and communication skills Both in English and Vietnamese.
  • • Ability to handle special assignments promptly and professionally.
  • • Sets a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership, and competency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision

  • Directs subordinates on day-to-day basis to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • Provides immediate supervision to a group of product assembly employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules.

Manpower

  • Able to coordinate with assembly production Planning to forecast the manpower status to avoid labor shortages.
  • Arranges assembly employees to meet production and delivery schedules. Grows up multi skills for the supervised group

Machines/Equipment

  • Assign people for daily monitoring/checking by using checklist.
  • Inform and work with PPM team about any abnormal issues.

Tooling, facility

  • Maintains assembly facilities/ testing tools to meet production quality requirement.
  • Weekly/ monthly monitoring of consumable, raw materials, tooling using.

Documents

  • Procedures, WI’s, checklists shall be in place when assembling products.
  • All records shall be completed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Production Plan vs WOs – 50%

1.1 Be an owner of all assembly production engineering responsibilities for Coherent Ceramics facilities.

1.2 Trains, arranges equalizing skilled manpower for each shift

1.3 Monitor production plans to meet shipping plans

1.4 Deal with customer about shipping issues

1.5 Monitors materials, tools to NOT get shortage for assembly production

1.6 Analyses and recommends corrective solutions for enhancing assembly efficiency Time, Cost, Quality

1.7 Maintains interactions within entire organization and third-party related entities

1.8 Helps to stabilize new products from R&D into Production

1.9 Works with project teams for new assembly products development giving insights from technical issues of previous products.

1.10 Defines Root cause of failure analysis to drive continuous improvement productivity

  1. New Manufacturing Process Development Support – 20%

2.1 Supports the transfer of new assembly products from prototype and low level of production to mass production

2.2 Supports special projects as required

2.3 Reports on projects and make recommendations to management

  1. Engineering Support Activities – 5%

3.1 Creates and supports engineering documentations related to assembly activities (Assmbly works instruction, Tool Sheets, Technician inspection Sheets, Assembly setup Sheets)

3.2 Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction (scrap reduction), quality improvement, and improved efficiencies

3.3 Writes Process Engineering change requests per the company’s system

3.4 Supports both legacy processes and new products in production

  1. Business Operations Support – 5%

4.1 Support costing reviews

4.2 Adhere to all department processes. Support reviews and audits of all SOPs and company practices for continuous improvement and cycle time reduction opportunities

4.3 Ensures all records, reports, and metrics are accurate and on-time

4.4 Understands and executes to relevant Company Technology Control Plans, Export Compliance requirements, IP, IT and Quality procedures

4.5 Establishes and maintains a high standard of ethics, professionalism, competency, and quality

  1. Supervision, Management & Leadership – 20%

5.1 Weekly review production schedule to make plan for working time, and working overtime compliant with laws.

5.2 Review skillset training matrix and production forecast to request cross training for flexible production capacity

5.3 Build teamwork and solve conflict issued within employees and focus employee’s satisfaction

5.4 Use time study, motion study & lean manufacturing to improve productivity and efficiency, Line of Balance & production lead-time

5.5 Develop key employees at each process step to do more complicated jobs or Jobs required higher than skills

5.6 Ensure your team is staffed, motivated, inspired, engaged, and empowered to deliver a high and sustainable performance level in an ever-changing environment at a cost level the organization can sustain and reflects market realities.

5.7 Ensure you have the right people in the right jobs, by consistently using proper interview and selection techniques and methodologies throughout your organization

5.8 Ensure a learning environment is in place and your team is trained and developed to consistently achieve your organization’s expectations in both the short and long terms.
