Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

Depending on circumstances, a Senior Manager may also play a project management role in executing transactions, on top of originating.

ORIGINATION ROLE

  • Execute the coverage plan for clients that has been developed by the team heads in conjuction with client coverage division.
  • Build new and strengthen relationship and rapport with clients and other parties such as third party advisers and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and initiate leads and potential deals (for IB transactions)
  • Define and effectively articulate issues and potential solutions
  • Develop, evaluate and assess the structure of deals to achieve an optimum and balanced solution for clients.
  • Lead small group discussions / meetings and presentations to clients.

PROJECT MANAGER ROLE

  • Act as primary liaison to the client and third parties (advisors, regulators, etc)
  • Define and effectively articulate issues and potential solutions
  • Ensure client is updated with progress reports and communicated on latest developments on a timely basis
  • Facilitate negotiations with relevant stakeholders and / or other advisors and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead, guide and assist team members (including Product Team) in understanding their scope of work for each assignment so that they would fully understand the objectives and requirements of the tasks that have been assigned to them
  • Monitor and manage team members (including Product Team) to ensure timely, effective and quality service and product delivery
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of project issues
  • Highlight issues and potential solutions to Co-Head, Head of IB & Advisory and/ or CEO where appropriate
  • Undertake primary review of documents produced by team members

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Identification of client needs, objectives and Maybank IB’s value proposition for the particular client situation

  • Continuously be abreast of client operating environment and business trends through regular interaction with client.
  • Regular identification of client needs and objectives in order to originate, advise and / or structure an optimum solution which caters to client objectives and makes both financial and commercial sense.
  • Define and effectively articulate issues and potential solutions

Assisting team head in ensuring that team budget is met

  • Initiating marketing activities and developing new clientele base
  • Regular review and assessment of progress of jobs
  • Establishing, maintaining and enhancing good rapport with existing client base via regular follow up and frequent marketing visits.
  • Ensuring quality control on all proposals and documentation by regularly reviewing and monitoring all work prepared by team members.
  • Regular meeting with product partners to brainstorm on new value adding proposals for the client.
  • Track progress / development of competitors.

Lead and managing team members in executing deals in the most effective manner

  • Regular communication with team members, clients and other departments to ensure work flow is on schedule
  • Regular brainstorming session with team members on proposals and structure/ issues
  • Assessment and evaluation of schemeStaff motivation• On the job training in order to develop core IB skills
  • Regular monitoring of team members’ performance and progress of assignments in order to manage strengths and weaknesses of team members

Regular monitoring and review of work to ensure timely completion of deliverables• Regular updates to team head on progress of proposals

  • Review and verification of work performed by team members

Qualification & Competentices

  • Level of Education : A recognized degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Legal, Business Studies, Economics, or Masters (MBA or MSc) in Business, Accounting, Management;
  • Years of Experience :At least six (6) years of total working experience with a minimal of four (4) years in strategic corporate finance advisory and restructuring work

Discipline/Related Field :

Self motivated, independent · Demonstrate strong leadership skills · Highly proactive in keeping abreast with the latest economic and client industry trend, regulatory guidelines and requirement
