Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of both company environmental, health and safety policies.
  • Lead a team of professional such as EHS, Medical Support Team to ensure that all policies are implemented correctly and consistently across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor company environmental, occupational health & safety management program such as policies & procedure in ensuring legal compliance with local occupational environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Lead the Project Management team in ensuring the expansion of the facility compliance to the EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics studies and emergency management of the local requirement.
  • Maintain and support the Environmental Management System as to ISO14001/ ISO45001 standard. Maintain occupational safety and health management system as to legal requirement. This includes all related documentation. Inventory management on safety equipment, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in management of hazardous wastes (chemical, toxic materials, or irradiating apparatus).
  • Inter department interaction and arrangement of training on emergency response and hazardous chemical/ material handling. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Investigation and assessment on incidents and accidents to prevent possibilities of property damage, injuries to employees or occupational health hazard.
  • Recommends and introduce corrective action and preventive action to where environmental, health and safety hazards exist. Organize or support the Internal/External Audit on EHS and reporting to Corporate EHS. Deal with all audits concerning to EHS. Example: ISO audit, government audit, customer audits, insurance audit etc. To manage EHS Engineer /Officer’s/ technician/ medical team, the EHS groups of personnel to maintain the EHS Management System.
  • Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time. Derive Continual Improvement. Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task.
  • Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc.
  • Lead the EHS team to ensure the full compliance to all the relevant Law, Rules, Guideline, Standards, Regulation or Act applicable to the Company.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • 08+ years of environment, safety, and health work experience with 3+ year of EHS Managerial/Leadership Experience and at least 3 years in a safety and health program development and implementation.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company located in Vietnam is required. Must be capable of managing upwards and laterally throughout the business organization.
  • Experience with working with functional corporate partners is good to have for this position. Helpful experienced with EHS auditing, Radiation Safety Officer, Laser Safety Officer, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist.

Strong level of familiarity with the EHS laws, codes, and practices of the Vietnam as well as the EHS requirements of Company
  • General understanding of business processes and methods for the calculation of financial return on investment
  • Efficiently prepares and effectively delivers presentations to employee groups, peers, management, and executive management. Ability to wear all kinds of PPE's and able to demonstrate it to peers and with first aid and CPR certification.
  • Strong computer/software skills: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and financial reporting software.
  • Must have ability to work effectively across cultures and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 20%, but typically <10%)
  • Must communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing. Must clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences, Engineering or EHS disciplines
  • Master’s Degree is preferred
