Job Description:

PURPOSE:

To lead the Supply Chain team to ensure quality products are efficiently produced per plan with optimal utilization of assets and human resources and to manage all logistics, warehouse and distribution activities in order to ensure the effective, efficient and safe storing and distribution of all company products.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategy formulated and managed through continuous improvement initiatives:

-Identify most value-adding opportunities.

-Implement applicable continuous improvement programmes i.e. SOE, TPM, etc.

-Identify benchmarks and best practices.

-Set goals and targets for improvement.

-Ensure sustainability of all initiatives.

-Strategy formulation in line with Group blueprint.

-Initiative effectiveness is evaluated as per BIG specified timeframes

-All programmes support main KPI's.

-Programme outputs measured against original goals/targets

-Deviations / opportunities are identified, reported and acted on within agreed to timeframes or as they occur

-Learnings captured and made available for larger business.

Managed & Developed staffs:

-Staff performance managed

-Developed people through programs such as:

·Skills development

·Technical training

·People Plan

·Coaching & Mentoring

-Recruit, select and retain staff

-Develop and retain talent

-Employee Insight Survey score meets target

-Cases/ man hour

-Individual development plans agreed and recorded in Perfomamnce Plan System

-Individual reviews done twice per year as per guidelines

-Individuals released to attend training sessions as planned

-100% compliance to BIG Performance Management system.

-Staff development executed as per individual development plans.

-Staff at lower levels trained as per Skills development plans.

-Vacancies filled with candidates fitting 80% of requirements

-Selection process completed within agreed time frame.

Complied to manufacturing system requirements:

Managed assets:

-All Machines and equipment in production are maintained.

-Ensure maintenance plan is executed as per plan.

Managed Customer Services (LWD):

-Inbound & Outbound logistics

-Warehousing

-Distribution

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-B.Degree in a related field (Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain) / Master Degree is a plus

-Min 8 years in a manufacturing or logistics environment

-Managerial experience in managing people to perform to goals in a team environment

-FMCG experience

-Packaging working environment.
