The Lead I&C Engineer shall be responsible for the following main activities but not limited to:
- Gain a full understanding of the project scope and procedures.
- Input, forecast, monitor and maintain effort hour budgets, manpower requirements and project schedules.
- Provide input for project execution plan.
- Prepare method and procedures to perform I&C engineering works.
- Assign work to I&C personnel ensuring the best utilization of their knowledge and capabilities.
- Plan, monitor and expedite I&C team activities to maintain the project schedule with required quality.
- Monitor the work of I&C team to assure conformance to recognized industry standards, safety standards, design criteria, project specifications and good engineering practice.
- Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used on assigned projects meet the Client’s requirements.
- Ensure that local best practice design is applied during all project phases for competitive and cost effective procurement and construction.
- Review and approval of I&C deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.) developed by I&C team.
- Prepare instrumentation calculations for control valves, flow orifices, and relief valves as required.
- Provide support to procurement of I&C relevant items, which includes but not limited to prepare or review of technical specifications, technical requisition, technical bid evaluation and package management for I&C packages as required by the project.
- Provide interdisciplinary checks for other disciplines which involves I&C aspects.
- Assist in the technical development of assigned project P&IDs.
- Perform vendor data review and vendor data incorporation for I&C packages and other discipline packages in respect of instrumentation and control.
- Provide technical support for inspection and test, construction, commissioning.
- Coordinate and/or participate in internal and external design reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, 3D Review, SIL Study Workshops, etc.).
- Interface with other disciplines, client and other third parties to ensure integration of engineering activities.
- Maintain coordination and cooperation between all I&C personnel under his/her supervision by working with other disciplines and higher management to resolve confliction issues.
- Report the work progress and bring to notice potential risks with recommended solutions to Engineering Manager.
- Ensure that engineering activities are executed within budgeted man-hours and approved schedules in compliance with project procedures, standards and specifications.
- Provide information where necessary to estimate the cost of contract changes on assigned projects. Alert the Engineering Manager to circumstances considered to be subject to contract change.
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions.
- Maintain high level of professionalism within I&C team and assigned working area.
- Travel to customers and suppliers sites for meetings, site surveys, equipment inspections, etc., when required.
