Job Description:
Job Summary;
The Research and Development Senior Manager plays a key role leading the R&D function including the oversight of a team of food scientists, food technologists, sensory specialists, chefs, food micro technicians and support staff. The R&D SM will be instrumental in supporting the company’s overall market vision of developing the best-in-class, highest quality confectionery and food products. The R&D Director will actively work with cross functional teams including marketing, production and quality assurance. Prior food product development experience is a non-negotiable must if applying for this position.
Main Responsibilities:
New product development/renewal and process design for Pie, Bread, Cracker, Candy, Cake,… from the concept through scale up and manufacturing stabilization.
Provide mentorship to new product, process development and quality improvement to R&D staff.
Responsible for cost saving in areas of food development by:
Excavating cost saving elements
Executing Expected effect analysis such as amount of cost saved
Collaborating with related departments and possibility analysis through field experiment
Conducting cost reduction assignment registration and conduct
Conducting post-implementation management and evaluation
Responsible for quality improvement and stabilization by
Analyzing relative quality level to competitor products
Conducting causal analysis (ingredient, process, etc. )
Identifying quality level improvement element.
Performing origin inspection, ingredient enhancement, improvement activity through supplementing process specifications
Performing product quality standard elaboration
General Requirements:
Bachelor or Master in Food Science Food Technology, Food Engineering and Dairy Science.
Minimum 10 years working experience with multi-national food manufacturing companies.
Good Leadership and coaching skill
Good track record in New product development, project management & team management
Minimum 5 years working experience in managing multi-technical functions including NPD, process engineering, Regulatory and Applied Research.
Familiar with confectionery/foods product is a plus
Excellent written and oral English and Vietnamese communication skills
Strong PC and MS Office experience especially in MS Excel and proficiency in working with relevant software tools
Competencies Required:
Is culinary-centric, food savvy and passionate about food and product innovation.
Has a strong working knowledge and proven track record of successful product “matching” in related company product categories.
Understands and is passionate about production commercialization.
Must be able to handle multi-tasks, priority projects/tasks and meet all deadlines in a fast work-pace environment.
Must be organized, detail-oriented and flexible to work overtime
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required
