Job Overview
The Commodity Manager (CM) will be responsible for managing the supply chain operations of their assigned purchasing category in Vietnam. The CM will ensure that company is procuring the best quality products, goods and services at the most competitive prices and delivered on-time. The CM will manage global supply chain projects in collaboration with the USA purchasing and marketing teams. The CM will also be responsible for coordinating crossfunctional NPI (New Production Introduction) activities for the successful execution for new product developments.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and maintain supplier relationships in Vietnam (ceramic, plastic, metal, printing)
Monitor supplier base’s quality control procedures as it relates to product specification and on-time delivery in full (OTIF)
Collaborate on projects with New Product Innovation (NPI) and USA Supply Chain and Marketing departments
Review processes and suggest ideas for improvement regarding efficiency, cost reduction, overall improvement of supply chain functions
Work with suppliers and CFE NPI team to develop new product offerings for internal customers (USA HQ)
New Supplier identification, development and selection
RFQ analysis and recommendation
Price/contract/service negotiations and management
Tracking and analyzing raw material trends for related category of goods
Traveling to and meeting with suppliers at their factory locations
Qualifications
University graduate with a major in Business Management, Engineering or other related discipline
5+ years’ experience working for multinational company (USA preferred) in a supply chain management function; plastic, ceramic, metal and/or printing industries preferred
Experience in related quality management systems is a plus
5+ years’ experience in supplier management, contract management, supplier development and negotiations
Strong interdependent skills necessary for working with multiple global teams
Effective command in spoken/written business English
Experience in all facets of project management – planning and executing
Effective data analysis and interpretation skills
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Honesty, integrity and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is required
