Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Reports To: V.P. of merchandising (us PERSON)

Our client  is seeking an Asia Product Development Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that our Dining and Bedroom Collections are produced according to styling and finishing specifications. This role works closely with our factories maintaining constant communications with the Product Development Team, Quality Control Manager, and Country Managers. 

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with factory production, our client's Product Development team, Quality Control Manager and Country Managers throughout development and first cutting production
• Inspect samples and new collections for styling and finishing consistency
• Communicate changes between the Product Development Team and factories
• Monitor and communicate any risk management issues, with focus on safety and liability
• Contribute suggestions and ideas to develop new collections or improve inline collections for the North American market
• Participate in quality control and production meetings
• Assist with quality control work throughout Asia when not occupied with product development tasks.

Requirements

• Furniture finish knowledge: stylistic /trend knowledge and technical knowledge

• Knowledgeable about South East Asian factories
• Understand American Furniture: Style, Trends, and Sizes
• Project management experience, ideally in an organization with cross-functional teams
• Product development experience, ideally producing furniture for U.S. Market
• Mechanical and technical aptitude
• Demonstrated ability to think analytically and critically
• Proven ability to manage timelines, budgets, and coordinate efforts of creative and technical partners
• Available to travel 10 days per month

Skills

• 2D CAD: reading proficiency, writing basic
• Language Requirements:
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese required
  • Vietnamese or Indonesian language proficiency a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office

Education: Bachelor's degree strongly preferred (USA or Vietnam)
