ESSENTIAL SKILLS

•7+ years professional experience in web (PHP/MySQL) development

•Strong PHP5/MySQL, JavaScript / Jquery / Ajax, CSS, XML, HTML5 skills

•Experience using at least one framework and CMS (eg. Zend, Joomla)

•Object orientated programming approach and design pattern experience

•Experience in web/application development, all layers - from databases, through services/logic layer to user interfaces

•Experience building robust, scalable webservices and database design skills

•Good knowledge of security exploits and preventative measures

•Linux

•Experience using source control tools (eg. Git)

•Optimisation of SQL queries

•Able to communicate well in English (written and spoken)

•An understanding of how people interact with applications and ability to think through problems from different perspectives

•A natural curiosity and strong drive to create perfection

DESIRABLE SKILLS

•Experience with XMPP/ejabberd and Erlang

• Experience with distributed/cloud computing and load balancing (eg. Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)

•Experience with automated testing tools and continuous integration

•Experience with iOS (Objective-C) or Android (Java) development

•A degree in computer science, other technical subject or design

•Experience working in an Agile environment

•Experience with, and naturally gifted at UX / UI / design

• Overseas education or work experience
