#2074 Senior Reservoir Engineer

Our client is an independent oil & gas company with operations in 13 countries across the globe, ranging from Northern Europe to Africa and from South America to Southeast Asia.

  • France
Job Description:

Duties:

  • Using basic reservoir engineering principles, including flow through porous media, relative permeability, nodal analysis and multi-phase flow to evaluate single well applications.
  • Applying well log results (resistivity, FDC/CNL, gamma ray and sonic logs in open hole completions; and CBL, diplog, carbon oxygen and production logs in cased holes) to correlate porous and non-porous lithologic members from logs and cores.
  • Interpreting a production logging survey.
  • Assessing validity of PVT data, and adjust results to correct errors. Estimate PVT data from oil and gas properties and correlations.
  • Estimating reservoir pressure from interpretation of RFT/MDT survey and/or reservoir pressure from interpretation of pressure transient tests.
  • Determining initial oil or gas in place from geologic maps and rock and fluid properties.
  • Applying statistical- probabilistic methods to estimate reserves using appropriate ranges of uncertainty.
  • Applying material balance techniques, including gas cap and water influx, for determining initial oil and gas in place.
  • Applying conventional well test data (including pressure build-up, draw down, fall-off/injection) to determine well performance and reservoir characteristics. Calculate vertical/horizontal well productivity indices
  • Assessing appropriate recovery factor ranges and calculate recoveries for field or reservoir applying conventional (deterministic & performance) methods and drive mechanisms
  • Applying principles of drive mechanisms, material balance, pressure maintenance, recovery estimating, decline analysis and volumetrics to determine oil reservoir performance.
  • Determining where to perforate production and injection wells taking into account degree of pressure communication and impermeable barriers.
  • Assessing optimum water flood/gas injection based on reservoir zonation, flood pattern analysis, injectivity and flood design.
  • Understanding and applying reservoir simulation to analyze reservoir performance and optimize reservoir development.
  • Understanding the concepts of decision and risk analysis and have an appreciation of the key factors that control uncertainty in recovery factor and reservoir performance.

Applicants should have:

  • University Degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • 5 years experience in field development studies of reservoir engineering analysis and reservoir simulation.
  • Working experience in West Africa and proven track record in an operating subsidiary is a clear plus.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage a wide range of data, to manage a multi- discipline team.
  • Communication skills and the capacity to provide accurate reporting.
  • Proficient user of Eclipse 100, Flogrid, Schedule, Office, Scal, Pvti, OFM, PetroWorks and Landmark software, well test, Wellflo, MBAL, Cristall Ball
  • Knowledge in Cased Hole Logs and Open Hole Logs interpretation
