Position Purpose
Client is a ship builder with its parent company and first Shipyard located in
Western Australia. Client also
has a Shipyard in Singapore, and its recent addition is a Shipyard in
Vietnam. This Vietnam Company has
120,000sqm of land, which is currently under development. To enable to meet its contractual obligations
in terms of ship builds, it has an ambitious development schedule for the Dong
Xuyen site.
The
position has the dual role or working closely with the Subcontractors appointed
to undertake the construction of the yard, whilst managing the project and
ensuring that it is on schedule and on budget.
The detail work will include the following (but not limited to):
Responsibilities
- Supervision of all shipyard
constructions including; building construction, pile driving, soil
compaction, concrete (reinforcement & pouring), storm water drainage,
electrical reticulation, water supply and reticulation (including fire
system), compaction and road surfacing/preparation, dredging and landfill
operations
- Ensuring the quality of construction
materials and methods
- Maintenance and enforcement of design
standards and general work standards on construction project
Duties and Tasks
Management
- Writing of
detailed specifications for each phase of the development
- Sourcing
quotations for each phase of the development
- Scheduling of
tasking and meeting of programme schedules
- Reporting of
progress
- Resolution of
design issues with subcontractor
- Participation in
development planning
Financial
- Bidding for
resources to meet the development requirements
- Meeting project
aims within project resource allocations
Design
- Liasing with
subcontractors to ensure quality and suitability of construction designs
to meet financial and functional requirements
Liaison
with other departments
- Liaison with the
others in Project Departments to ensure development schedules are suitable
for all
- Liaison with
subcontractors
- Liaison with
external departments to arrange licenses & permissions as required
