Job Description:
Responsibilities:

• Perform duties assigned by the Director of MEP Engineering including but not limited to: setting and monitoring project scheduling and project budgets; supervise MEP project teams to ensure a high quality of production work; reviewing and checking of drawings, and ensuring that all appropriate authorizations/signatures/stamps are included on drawings before issuance.
• Responsible for the management of MEP team members, including the provision of technical advice and assistance, mentoring, training and performance management, as well as assisting in the recruitment and induction of new team members.
• Ensure that Company’s design and inspection procedures and professional standards/rules are
implemented and being followed by all members of the MEP Engineering team, and provide suggestions to the Director on areas of improvement for quality procedures.
• Liaise with and provide engineering advice to the project architects, other engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, government and local authorities, and clients as required.
• Liaise with contractors, undertake site inspection duties and assist to resolve construction phase
related problems.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings when it is required.
• Assist Business Development department in preparing cost proposal for M&E Engineering man-
hours/fees and design contact scope of works.
• Be pro active and to ensure that key project decisions and/or corrective actions are made in a
timely manner, and are well communicated to all staff and client.
• Assist with any necessary changes to the project strategy and process, including any necessary
financial changes.
• Undertake engineering review and validation of design documents prepared by design team to  ensure the design is safe, economical, efficient and constructible.
• Ensuring the timely completion and submission of required M&E design reports or any technical
documents in the submission of designs for approval to the proper authorities such as Building
License report, Fire License report and Master Planning report.
• Provide engineering advice/comments in reviewing shop drawings, material and equipment submissions from the contractors.
• Review and evaluate project resources, design schedules and to decide whether the projects to be outsourced or it will be internally designed.
• Manage outsourced resources, specifying the qualifications and experience required for the relevant M&E design engineers.
• Prepare and finalized project design brief and specifications in cooperation with the assistance Design Manager or design team.
• Provide technical support or advice to the project QS or Project Manger in the preparation of tender documents and actively participate tender meetings as required.
• Conduct Value engineering analysis and make sound recommendations to meet budget
requirements.
• Ensure the successful completion and handover of projects and contract obligations are carried
accordingly in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and monitor with finance department for the timely issuance of progress invoice and the timely collection of design fees.

Authorities:

• Review MEP drawings and calculations, and sign, stamp and provide appropriate approval for
MEP drawings where authorised.
• Implementation of approved processes, forms, procedures as required by the Group Director of
Engineering.

Competencies:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Environmental or Electrical Engineering.
• Be a licensed Mechanical/Electrical/Environmental Engineer, or possess at least equivalent  Chartered or Registered Engineering accreditation and membership from a Professional  Engineering Institution in another country.
• Years of experience: Deputy Manager: minimum of 10 years post graduate work experience;  Manager: minimum of 15 years post graduate work experience; Senior Manager: minimum of  20 years post graduate work experience.
• A minimum of 8 years experience leading MEP Engineering teams within a multinational organisation.
• Previous experience working within an Engineering consulting environment, with a clear focus on design experience.
• Advanced time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage the time of others and to ensure efficiency of organizational processes.
• Advanced written and spoken communication skills including advanced negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to manage clients from a range of cultural backgrounds, as well as developing Engineering business.
• Advanced knowledge of design software in relation to the MEP design including AutoCAD and
Revit.
• Site inspection or supervision experience on building construction projects.
• Advanced knowledge of International Building Codes and Design Standards including environmental building standards (LEED and similar).
• Advanced leadership skills with the ability to manage teams with a strong results-orientation.
• Advanced written and spoken English skills are also required.
