Job Scope

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the development & execution of the Marketing Plan for the Shopping Centre. The position entails implementation of marketing strategies essential for the growth & development of the Centre, to position the Centre as the leading Centre in the market, to boost awareness, and to build up a positive brand perception in order to deliver high traffic and sales turnover for Centre Retailers. The Marketing Manager is responsible for promoting the Centre’s relationship with all key stakeholders, especially Retailers and potential shoppers in the catchment area of the Centre, in addition to visitors to the Centre in the first instance, while retaining and expanding upon the Mall’s customer base through effective and attractive marketing activities.

Primary Objectives

  • Develop, execute & review marketing strategies designed to maximise both customer traffic flow for the Centre and sales potential of individual retailers throughout the Centre.
  • Increase centre retail turnover to marketing spend ratio
  • Encourage customer traffic flow vertically through the Centre.
  • Develop & implement strategies to expand customer dwell time, cultivate customer loyalty and encourage repeat visitation.
  • Address & remain focussed on the Landlord’s requirements & aspirations in all Centre related activity.
  • Maximize the Market Share of the Centre
  • Participate in maximization of income for the Landlord, in particular through Percentage (Turnover) Rental and Casual Leasing
  • Contribute towards the development of an ever stronger customer service focus.
  • Ensure that Risk Management practices are applied to minimise loss exposure to the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Development & execution of the Marketing Plan designed to drive foot traffic & retailer turnover which will underpin market share in addition to a positive customer perception of the Shopping Centre, all in a socially responsible manner.
  • Development of positive relationships with all stakeholders including the Landlord, Company, Retailers, Customers and Visitors to the Shopping Centre, in addition to the media and the general public of Ho Chi Minh City and beyond.
  • Participate in the creation & maintenance of a favorable image for the Centre on behalf of the Landlord and Company, promoting the Shopping Centre as Ho Chi Minh City’s premier shopping, leisure and business destination.
  • Contribute to building a positive team environment.
  • Adherence to all occupational health and safety requirements in addition to all laws & regulations in general.
  • Ensure all licenses are in place for all Marketing & Promotional Activities at the Centre.

Professional Specifications

  • Established senior Marketing Manager, having gained significant experience either in a similar position, or in FMCG markets within a commercially oriented blue-chip environment at Senior Brand Manager level or above.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing/Business.
  • Professional and poised, especially when working closely/communicating with senior management and executive level strategic partners and retailers
  • Ability to create, estimate costs, execute, and manage events and promotions through to completion using highly developed project management skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated with ability to analyze complex situations, make critical decisions in a timely manner, and work independently
  • Excellent research, organization, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with new forms of digital and online media, including social media, blogs, web based marketing etc with a strong understanding of the connection between marketing and communications / social media strategy
  • Advanced Public Relations skills & experience, with established media relationships with key journalists and bloggers
  • Ability to effectively represent the Centre with or before the media and local authorities as well as in meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and gain consensus from diverse groups with varying agendas including the Client, the Retailers, and the General Public.
  • Strong aptitude for working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, varying in seniority and work experiences
  • Ability to drive measurable, sustainable results, analyzing the efficiency & effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
  • Strong mentoring/coaching and performance management skills
  • Fluent in both spoken & written English
  • Skilled  in effective written & oral presentation, combined with solid budgeting skills
  • Proficient on software programmes including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge, experience & capacity to introduce, manage & review a customer loyalty programme throughout the Centre.
