We are looking for an IT systems engineer used to solve problems by thinking out of the box and willing to join our mission to facilitate travel planning in Asia. The candidate must be graduated in Computer Science, Information Technologies or any related design or engineering field. Also, must have relevant experience in GIS technologies (CARTO, OSM), web development (PHP) and databases (MySQL).

The position is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and requires fluency in English.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Mapping

1. Manipulate geospatial data in GIS environments using geoprocessing tools
2. Create and maintain maps and datasets in CARTO with CARTO Builder
3. Integrate CARTO API to display transport data over a map with CARTO Engine

Development

1. Develop efficient, well-structured functions to connect our system with CARTO
2. Extend the functionality of our website, embed map visualization in the frontend
3. Perform beta-testing, ensure that UI/UX complies with usability

Report

1. Report to CTO
2. Coordinate with Business Operations Team and Technical Operations Team to integrate data of flight, train, bus and ferry routes

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Degree in Computer Science, IT or any related design or engineering field

Professional experience: 1 year working with GIS, Geographic Information Systems

Language proficiency: Fluent in English

Experience with GIS technologies

• CARTO, CartoDB: CARTO Builder, CARTO Engine
• OpenStreetMap (OSM)

Experience with backend technologies

• PHP
• MVC frameworks (CodeIgniter)

Experience with databases

• MySQL (Phpmyadmin)

Relevant knowledge of front technologies is plus

• CSS
• Javascript (jQuery, Ajax)
