Job Description

Overall management of development projects undertaken by the section
Lead the technical activities for design, development and implementation of complex technical solutions for applications.
Provides technical advice related to applications supported for technical design and solution development.
Managing staff and activities within agreed annual budget and working with senior management to achieve budget savings objectives
Managing all software deliveries to ensure staff follows the development methodology andthe defined quality standards. Ensure proper documentation of all development to facilitate future maintenance and enhancements. Employs the risk assessment methodology issued by the Information Security Department to ensure proper controls are build as required by the business.
Ensure budgets, schedules and deliverables are adhered to.
Ensure the highest levels of Quality and professional practices are followed to maintain a consistently high standard of development
Builds appropriate controls into business application software to ensure the stability, security and reliability.
People management ofall staff including setting objectives, performing appraisals, creating personal development plans, succession planning, awarding bonuses etc.
Ensuring Service Levels are met for development and support.
Manage vendors and external parties.
Notifies management about potential security problems, which are not adequately addressed by existing control mechanisms.

Requirements

Requires 5 - 7 years working on specific applications technically. Minimum 5 years working in financial sector.
Minimum of 3 years working in supervisory level
Specific software knowledge
Professional Degree in IT or related field
