Job Description:

  • The BDA reports directly to the company Asia Business Development Manager and works closely with the country distributor team.

Job Responsibilities:

The job objective is to increase the overall country sales by being equally adept in, and executing the below 3 functions:

1. Business Development:

  • Serves as the in-country liaison to the Asia Business Development Manager
  • Identifies and pursues sales growth opportunities across retail, e-retail and HORECA channels (to be sent back to HQ every month)
  • Identifies opportunities for sales promotional activities such as in-store promotions, product sampling, and new product launches
  • Supports distributor in sharing product knowledge with key customers and participates in joint meetings with the distributor’s sales team
  • Conducts regular store/market visits
  • Participates in Joint Sales Meetings with Distributors Sales force and engages end-customers / buyers (however does NOT discuss any commercial terms, contracts etc as that is the Distributors’ Sales person responsibility)

2. Standard Company Operating Procedures:

  • Implements Standard company SOPs
  • Assists the distributor in their monthly ordering
  • Is well-versed in company’s logistics and shipping procedures as well as the distributor’s
  • Ensures a streamline inflow and outflow of products, mitigating product wastage, expiries
  • Assists the Distributor with inventory management
  • Prepares Monthly inventory and sales reports

3. Marketing and Brand Support in country:

  • Serves as the liaison to the company Marketing Manager
  • Continuously assesses the competitive landscape (marketing activations, promotions,)
  • Implements the company marketing local activations ( in-store, events, market-data gathering)

Job Requirements:

The BDA must be a sales-driven and an effective communicator in English and the local language, with a background in consumer goods sales or marketing.

  • Excellent local language and English language oral, written, and presentation skills
  • 3-5 years in FMCG Sales or Marketing
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint
  • Excellent understanding of numbers and proficiency with spreadsheets
  • Fluency with Google Docs, Inventory management
  • Local national proficient in country demographics, trends
  • Previous national sales experience
  • Strong relationship management skills (stakeholders, key clients)
