Job Description:

KEY OBJECTIVES
The main purpose of this role is as the focal point of HSE leadership, management and advice to the Vietnam team.
The position reports to the Country Manager and functionally to the South East Asian Regional HSE Manager

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. General

  • Provide daily interaction and solutions to problems and projects to the Vietnam team
  • Management of HSE contractors for the implementation of processes,
  • Interface and communicate with public stake holders by means of socialization programs
  • Interface with regulatory bodies and suppliers to assist and/or project manage the acquisition and development of government permits, documents and programs required for oil and gas operations in Vietnam

2. Seismic Program

  • In preparation for, and during, Seismic acquisitions the main focus of the role will be to support the Country Manager, covering all operations, regarding Vietnamese compliance, policies, offshore international marine conventions and standards for marine vessels

3. Drilling Program

  • In preparation for, and during, Drilling Programs the main focus of the role will be to support the Drilling Manager, covering all operations, regarding Vietnam compliance, policies, offshore international marine conventions and standards for drilling, marine vessels and production.

4. Health Safety and Environment

  • Ensure all activities are undertaken in a safe, ethical and responsible manner, complying at all times with current corporate ethics and HSSE Management System

Requirement:

Essential

  • A degree in engineering, science or related physical or biological science with a minimum of 5-10 years oil industry experience as an HSE line supervisor/manager with an operator, drilling contractor or marine vessel supplier.
  • Or tertiary education with a minimum of 10-12 years oil industry experience as an HSE line supervisor/manager with an operator, drilling contractor or marine vessel supplier.
  • NEBOSH and <insert National HSE Tertiary Education/certification standard>
  • Ability to develop, implement and administer Management systems, programs
  • and procedures designed to protect asset integrity, reducing risks and liabilities to both personnel and the business
  • An understanding of offshore drilling campaign preparation and operations
  • Experience in emergency response, oil spill contingency preparation, permit to work, risk/hazard evaluation and incident investigation
  • Direct experience and a clear understanding of the current Vietnam upstream oil industry regulatory regime
  • Provide guidance and administrate training to ensure Murphy and regulatory competency levels are met and maintained
