The primary role of the HSE Advisor/Trainer is to develop, plan, implement and monitor all HSE activities. The position includes Training/ Mentoring support for clients and the development of HSE materials to international standards

Specific Accountabilities:

Establishing HSE plans and populating the HSE system with data.

Deliver high quality HSE training and advice

Develop safety culture change

Develop and implement HSE programs in a range of industries incl construction, industrial & petrochemical.

HSE auditing and Report writing

Develop & Implement HSE training program.

Conduct Hazid/Hazop workshops

Conduct incident and accident investigation

Assist in delivering onshore/offshore emergency command team training

Supervise site safety officers and workers

Competencies:

Technical or Academic Qualification in HSE to international standard.

Equivalent qualifications and Industry experience

Lead auditor OHSAS

Experience (10 years) industrial / petro-chemical HSE environment.

Working knowledge of regulatory and industry codes applicable to the HSE discipline

Previous experience in a supervisory position

Certificate 4 in training & workplace assessment or its equivalent

Experience with the application of computerized HSE management systems

Effective communication skills (written, oral and computer)

Thorough-working knowledge of HSE Policy & Industry codes.

Proficiency in English both written and verbal.

Proven planning and cost management awareness

Experienced in training and competence assurance

Ability to recognize and resolve conflict.

Demonstrated command and crisis management capability.

Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to environmental health and safety issues.

Working knowledge of industry and regulatory codes/safety standards
