Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Implementation of health and safety systems and procedures on site that reflect best practice standards and ensure full legal/regulatory compliance, as well as being in line with Archetype Group standards.

• Manage the safety team including recruitment, mentoring and performance management.

• Undertaking regular health and safety inspections across the site, and notifying any non-conformance or breach to the Project Manager.

• Liaise and coordinate with contractors to ensure appropriate safety plans are in place and being adhered to.

• Undertake risk management and hazard reduction procedures to anticipate and prevent site safety problems.

• Manage safety incidents, including ensuring there is an appropriate emergency procedure, incident register is maintained and injuries are reported.

• Conduct regular safety audits on site and producing the monthly safety report.

• Liaise with relevant government authorities regarding site safety as required.

• Ensure awareness of all site workers and contractors of safety standards, including but not limited to, running toolbox talks regarding safety.

Job requirements:

• Degree qualified in Engineering.

• 5+ years experience in site safety management.

• Maintain an Advanced knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.

• Advanced skills in ensuring compliance including the confidence to strictly administer safety systems and close sites if necessary.

• Advanced attention to detail, particularly in respect to safety requirements of Archetype Group and site contractors.

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear reports.

• Previous experience managing multicultural teams in an expatriate environment either in Asia, the Middle East, Africa or South America.

• Intermediate leadership skills, ensuring teams are well motivated, organized, able to provide clear direction and manage conflict.

• Intermediate client and contractor management skills, including demonstrable negotiation skills and inter-personal skills.

• Intermediate working knowledge of software used in project management including: Team Binder, Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Fluency in written and spoken English.
