Job Description:

Location: Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City based)

Line Manager: General Manager

Direct reports: Staff and management of the operations

Position Duties and Scope:

·         The development and implementation of strategic business goals that deliver sustainable growth and diversification

·         The financial and operational performance of the assigned business units

·         Compliance with requirements for safety and compliance

·         Ensure legislative and best practice compliance issues are observed

·         Adhere to the ethical and compliance requirements of the brand and all associated policies

·         The preparation of annual budgets, capital expense proposals and other financial instruments for the successful operation of the business

·         Ensure the business achieves budgeted EBIT and growth targets

·         The development of a marketing strategy that maintains current clients as well as provides for client growth and diversification

·         The development and implementation of a pricing strategy that facilitates business goals

·         Foster a working environment that aims to increase quality, safety, productivity and efficiency through upgrading technologies, methodologies, and processes.

·         Ensure that the staff structure, capabilities, and development programs of the business can facilitate current and future business needs

·         Ensure direct reports have suitable skills and training for the roles they are fulfilling

·         The submission of a monthly report appropriate to the role

·         Participation in regional meetings and management presentations as required by the role

·         Other duties related to the successful operation and administration of the business, or required by the Regional General Manager

Quality Responsibilities:

·         Ensuring that the quality of data produced is maintained at a level that meets or exceeds company and market acceptable standards (based on ISO17025 and ISO17020)

·         Ensure the integrity of the businesses quality system is maintained and further developed

·         Maintaining and further developing a work culture and environment that supports honesty and integrity

Safety and Compliance:

·         To understand the company’s major compliance and HSE policies

·         To support the systems and processes of the compliance program

·         To report and rectify any compliance concern or unsafe practice

·         To understand the company’s safety requirements as set out in the safety manual

·         To provide the necessary equipment and environment to ensure safety in the business

·         To develop and further improve the safety culture within the business unit

Position Requirements

·         Demonstrated leadership skills

·         The ability to think strategically and execute on strategic and business plan initiatives

·         The ability to develop and maintain strategic customer relationships

·         Strong interpersonal skills and staff leadership experience

·         The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team

·         An understanding of business finance accounting; including preparation of annual budgets and interpretations of profit and loss statements

·         10 years’ previous laboratory and/or business experience, including not less than 5 years in a management role

·         Good written and verbal communication skills (Vietnamese and English)

·         A tertiary science qualification, preferably Chemistry (e.g. B.Sc. or M.Sc.) and other appropriate professional qualifications

·         A thorough understanding of ISO17025/17020 and their requirements

·        General computer literacy skills
