- Maintain the long-term profitability of each individual profit center or business unit.
- Establish customer relationships by identifying potential customers and associated strategic and marketing plans. Subject to credit approval from finance, accept or decline invitations to form customer relationships.
- Co-ordinate development of all aspects of quotations including manufacturing, materials, test, packaging and tooling. Exercise final authority to establish any cost assumption or pricing position contained in any quotation.
- Monitor and execute the day to day production of all assemblies within the individual profit center of business unit. This includes ensuring timely delivery, quality, process conformance, and test procedures.
- Exercise complete responsibility and authority over all changes to any assembly in the individual profit center or business unit, including volumes, schedules, engineering changes, and all other unforeseen variations to a project.
- Negotiate contracts and continually evaluate risk versus reward. Assess the quality of customer relationships and exercise the authority to terminate those relationships when necessary.
- Provide accurate financial projections to the site and corporate of each profit centre.
- Promote Business Unit’s interests internally through participation or co-ordination where applicable in site meetings. Specifically :
- Operations : JOS, Production Meetings, Monthly Management Meetings
- Finance : Weekly Indicator, Forecast Reviews, Monthly Variance Meeting
- Business : Quarterly Dog Show
- Coach, lead and mentor Business Unit Coordinators and work cell members with positive attitude and administer performance reviews.
- Setting clear and objective goals and expectations for the Business Unit.
- Provide a succession plan for the position currently being occupied by the BUM.
