Part I: General Information

Job Title : Assistant Vice President, Risk

Department : Credit & Risk

Location : Ho Chi Minh City

Report to : Head of Credit & Risk

Number Subordinates : 3 Managers/Assistant Managers & 10 employees

 

Part II: Job Summary

The key purpose is to manage overall Credit Risk of the business including but not limited to managing functions of credit policy , portfolio management, MIS, Fraud prevention, credit quality assurance and decision science. The role is aimed at ensuring responsibility of business growth while keeping the risk appetite intact. Development and executing credit policy keeping in mind the dynamic nature of the business and the market in which we operate. Designing product strategy based on segmentation so as to assist the business growth as defined in the Business plan.

This role is one of the key senior management positions in the business along with sales, finance, operations, human resources and compliance

Credit Policy/Portfolio Management
To ensure the high quality of asset by defining and implementing the appropriate credit policy for the products. The role is to ensure that business is growing profitably by portfolio monitoring for all risks parameters designed in product planning. This includes continuing exploration and research on opportunity to ensure sustainable long-term business profit along with strong organizational growth.
- Establish, maintain credit policies, and procedures covering relevant aspects of credit risks and practices.
- Maintain a sound risk portfolio through implementation of prudent, commercially pragmatic credit policies, procedures.
- To track implementation of action plan for management decisions and measure as well as report their impact.
- To prepare update to Risk Management Committee with all risks related matters and Board of Directors on monthly basis

Decision Science Analysis
This role is to develop scorecard i.e Application scorecard, Behavioral scorecard and collections scorecard. Work on Credit Risk models with a focus on impairment models. Work constructively to deliver projects, while being an interface with wide range of internal departments to explain the benefits, limits and requirements for proposed scoring solutions.
- Apply Innovative and scientific / Quantitative approaches to draw conclusions and make "insight to action” recommendation to answer business objectives and drive appropriate change.
- Should work on predictive models using various cutting edge techniques in Statistics, econometrics to forecast business volumes.
- Develop predictive models and/or scores to support credit risk, collections, fraud and marketing decisions.
- Create metrics to track and measure effectiveness of predictive models and maximize usage of the same for business growth.

MIS and Analytics
To ensure optimal usage of various analytics tools , understanding database structure and usage of various Risk analytics systems like SAS , etc.
- Work on SAS for various reporting as required by business.
- Develop MIS using multivariate and univariate variables.
- Develop multi-dimensional MIS to give multiple perspectives to the stakeholders.
- Ensure use of data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive business.

Macro economy, competitor, market intelligence
To be vigilant for overall macro economy trend, competition landscape/movement for executing required counter measure to weather the situation to the favor of the business with timely report to Risk.Com and management.
- To monitor and provide input to head of risk about possible change of credit policy modification for incoming market/competition/regulation changes.
- To prepare update to Risk Management Committee about macro economy, competitor and market intelligence

 

Part VI: Job Specification / Possible Profile

(Please specify minimum qualifications of the person who can work for the position effectively)

1. Education Background : University Graduate, major in Statistics, Math or Business Administration

2. Minimum Experience : Minimum of 8-10 years experience within a Banking or Consumer Finance environment with quantitative analysis background

3. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge , Skill, Abilities)

− Basic knowledge : Exposure to credit and risk techniques, quantitative analysis, strong at numerical skills, Consumer Lending operations; collection management and Performance Management

− Competencies : Analytical, Communication, Team Management, Leadership

- Computer skill : Good computer usage

- Languages capability : Competent in English communication skills

4. Other (if any ) :

− Exposure to credit and risk techniques, quantitative analysis, strong at numerical skills.

− Should be acquainted with Fraud management.

− Understanding of Finance Statement, fluent both spoken and written English

- The job holder is responsible for reporting suspected incidents of fraud.
