POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Publicity Manager will work closely with the CEO in creating and championing the communication, publicity and social media strategies and plans across movie brands being released by the Company
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Publicity
- With support from CEO, create publicity and social media strategies for the Company’s releases.
- Provide strategic insight into overall marketing communications strategy.
- Nurture and retain excellent relationships with senior media, television, writers, other media contacts, local celebrities, hot bloggers and other influencers.
- Research, develop, present and plan execution of innovative publicity plans
- and compelling story ideas of individual movie launching campaigns including but not limited to high profile publicity events, releases, reviews, media promotion and social media activities.
- Create and/or localize press materials; pitch and secure placement for movie releases in broadcast, print, radio and on-line.
- Develop and manage social media campaigns and social media vendors for channels such as Facebook, Twitter and other emerging word-of-mouth platforms.
- Monitor, capture, analyze, interpret and report social activity and trends. Identify and act on opportunities and threats in user-generated content, news and pop culture trends.
- Define key performance indicators and implement measurement, analytics, and reporting methods to gauge success.
- Continually track trends and scout new technologies and tactics to stay current with the changing role of public relations in an evolving digital/social media world.
- Work closely with Film Marketing team in order to ensure all publicity and social media communication aligned with creative and business strategy.
- Manage Publicity and social media budget and work with Film Marketing Manager to ensure spend fits in with wider marketing strategy.
- Coordinate with Distribution team to brainstorm and provide effective local title translations of all the releases.
- Provide additional support to CEO as assigned Corporate PR
- Planning PR strategy (30%) by liaising with colleagues and external stakeholders, collecting and analyzing media coverage, etc.
- Implementing PR strategy for business expansion (40%) by: researching, producing, and distributing media pieces; leading PR for new site launches; leading PR for new business lines; and managing the PR aspect of potential crises.
- Fostering community relations (30%) by leading CSR activities including but not limited to film festivals, charity movie screenings, and filmmaking classes, and fundraising drives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
- BA degree from an accredited college or university and 5 years experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital media or advertising
- Demonstrated experience and a passion for the social technology universe (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.).
- Broad knowledge in movie, entertainment and multi media industries.
- Understanding of current key issues and industry challenges in media within and outside of the country.
- Superb writing skills are an absolute ‘must-have’. Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly creative with an appreciation for high quality and stylish creative work.
- Confidence and effectiveness in working with senior executives and matrixed communication contacts.
- Evidence of strategic approach and robust project planning.
- Ability to cross-collaborate and work as a member of a team; aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and juggle several assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to distinguish and behave with a good sense of decorum; acting as a brand ambassador is absolutely required.
